Description:

The Ibiza HFR monitors the Ibiza Channel, providing near real-time maps of near-surface currents (0.9 m) over a wide area (out of about 65 km from the shore) with high spatial (3 km) and temporal resolution (hourly). The system transmits electromagnetic waves with a center frequency of 13.5 MHz (associated to a wavelength of 22.2 m) that are scattered off waves with half the transmitted electromagnetic wavelength (11.1 m).
